• Do teen volunteers help in your library? (for example, shelving, story times, reading buddies, teaching technology or gaming, etc.)

   

• Do you organize and/or supervise teens for volunteer projects to benefit the general community? (for example, making quilts for hospital patients; meals for homeless; mentoring seniors, etc.)

   

• Do you work with a teen whose contribution to the library and community deserves recognition?

What’s in it for them?

•    Awards presentation in front of family and school, library and/or elected officials

•    Recognition of their work by legislators, parents, peers, library, school, and potential colleges/employers.

•    $500 grand prize savings bond and $150 savings bonds to runners-up courtesy of EBSCO Publishing.

And for you… recognition of your volunteer and your organization.

Please help us to recognize the great contributions that South Jersey teens are making with the support of your organizations. We’d like to have the biggest awards ceremony ever with librarians, teachers, parents, and all of your teen volunteers invited.

How do you enter?

Nominations must be received on or before Friday, March 14, 2008, and include the following information:

• Name, age, grade level, school and contact information for the nominee.
• A description of the noteworthy contribution(s) of the nominee in one or more of the following areas: continuing volunteer service in the public and/or school library; volunteer service to the community that is sponsored by the public or school library; and other factors, such as volunteer work that is not sponsored by the school or library.
• Nominator's name and contact information.
